Hi, I'm Bhavna Kanoria

Being the founder of this venture, Matter.Stories was the result of an interesting meandering path for me. Having studied English Literature and Interior Design, I worked as an interior designer, but soon realized that I didn’t see my future in it. Instead I yearned to solve a lot of the real problems I saw around me. Climate change, its impact on the planet and our impact on climate and the planet bothered me deeply and I chose to shift focus to that instead. I wanted to show our children that they could do things differently from us and build sustainable practices into their lives.

I run a party decor rental service, where the decor is made from textile waste, with the aim to encourage people to move away from single-use paper and plastic decor at their parties. It’s my small way of making a change in the way we celebrate, leaving a cleaner and healthier planet for our children.

Matter.Stories has been a direct offshoot of that thought process and is yet another tool to show our children that sustainable living can be easy and fun, and all we need to do is go back to our roots.
